Florida is a Nature
Blue Cypress Lake Paddle with St. Johns Riverkeeper
Florida's best-kept secret and the Headwaters of our St. Johns River is located 22 miles west of Vero Beach. April is the best month to witness the ospreys abound and nesting in the Lake's cypress trees. Birds galore - you might also see owls, hawks, ducks, herons, cranes and more! And don't be surprised if we see an alligator or two, as well.
Join St. Johns Riverkeeper staff and local guides for a unique water voyage of all Blue Cypress lake has to offer and the place where our River's begins its long 310 mile journey northward. You'll also learn the recent nutrient pollution issue of sewage sludge affecting Blue Cypress with unprecedented algae blooms in the summer months and what you can do to help. After the trip, enjoy lunch (on your own) with us at local spot, Marsh Landing, before heading home.
